Real estate is a traditional area of investment for ZAD and a strategy initiated by HH Prince Abdullah Al Turki Al Saud. Core real estate investments are within Saudi Arabia and comprise large land banks – many in primary locations – across the country. In addition, ZAD has ownership of several commercial properties including premier shopping malls. ZAD maintains close relationships manufacturers, contractors and developers worldwide. ZAD has a diversified holding of securities both local and international. The investments are in form of direct shares and, also, as various derivative instruments. Zad trades these securities through house brokers which include both bulge bracket banks and regional trading boutiques. ZAD is a specialist private equity investor and has participated in this asset class through various approaches:

• Direct private equity stake (including growth capital)
• Participation as limited partner (LP)
• Direct equity stake in the asset management vehicle (GP) These represent one-off investment opportunities which do not fit directly into any of the categories above.
